The Sub-₹5K Shoe Project

Nobody reviews the shoe most of us actually buy. So we're taking India's sub-₹5,000 running shoes and running them into the ground: weighed, cut open and worn for 200 km by runners across the country. Vote now. The shoes with the most backers go in first.

  1. You vote

Back up to 3 shoes you want tested. Missing one? Nominate it below.

  2. We test

The core team measures every shoe the same way, and community wear-testers run them across cities, paces and body weights.

  3. Results go live

Every tested shoe gets a scorecard on this page: our verdict, kilometres logged by the community, and what it costs per km.

Vote: which shoe next?

The most-backed shoes go into testing after voting closes on 15 November.

Run these shoes for us

Lab numbers only go so far. We want to know how a ₹4,000 shoe holds up after 200 km on your roads, at your pace, in your city's heat.

  • We're picking testers of every pace and size, from first-timers to sub-5:00/km runners, women and men, across cities.
  • Testers log three short check-ins: out of the box, at 50 km, and at 150–200 km with photos of the outsole.
  • Already own one of the shoes on the ballot? Apply anyway. Your kilometres count too.

Missing a shoe?

Tell us about the sub-₹5K shoe you run in, or one you've had your eye on. Popular nominations get added to the vote.

The rules

  • A shoe qualifies if its MRP in India is under ₹5,000.
  • One vote per shoe, up to 3 shoes per runner. You can change your picks until voting closes.
  • Votes decide what we test first. Geeks on Feet makes the final call, so stuffing the ballot won't help.
  • Every review will say whether we bought the shoe or a brand sent it. Brands don't see a verdict before you do.
